Other times, it&#8217;s a polite way to shut down a tangent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. \u201cI&#8217;ll Have to Check My Calendar\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Translation: \u201cI&#8217;m going to pretend I might be busy so I can decide later if I actually want to do this.\u201d A classic corporate stalling technique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. \u201cThat&#8217;s a Great Question\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Translation: \u201cI have no idea, but I need a second to think.\u201d This phrase buys time while making the asker feel validated.
